Today, 30 Year Five and Six pupils travelled to the St Ivo Outdoor
Centre to take part in the Level 2 Quad Kids Competition. The weather
was cold, grey and drizzly as we arrived – not a good start.
Ten schools
took part, with 24 teams and over 200 children competing.
Our three
teams consisted of:
A Team Georgina B, Lily-May R, Eva H, Livvie B, Bethan T, Louis C, Alfie R, Luke M, George P and Jacob P.
B Team Morgan C, Francesca H, Grace H, Megan C, Caris V, Fred T, Harvey W, Freddy W, Elliott B and Thomas W.
C Team Beatriz C, Tina A, Mia L, Abi M, Elise LR, Matthew P, Alex B, Ryan B, Alfie B, and Finn P.
For the first rotation, the A Team competed in standing long jump, B Team howler throw and the C team did the 400m run.
In the second rotation the A team took part in the 600m run, B Team standing long jump and the C Team the howler throw.
During the third and final rotation the A team took part in the howler throw, B team 600m run and C team standing long jump.
All
the schools then came together to take part in the 75m sprint. All the
Crosshall athletes finished in the top four (of eight athletes) in
their races.
Miss Howell nominated Alfie B for his win in the 400m and Abi’s all-round performance as the athletes of the C team.
Mr Blackwell nominated Francesca’s 1.90m standing long jump and Thomas’ 35m howler throw as his athletes of the B team.
Athletes of the A team were Eva for her 2.00m standing long jump and
all 5 girls for finishing first, second, third, fourth and fifth in
their 600m race and leaving the other two schools in their wake!
We now await the results – fingers crossed for a top two finish so we can go to the next round!
We would like to thank Mrs Blackwell, Miss Howell and Mr Blackwell for their support on the day.
